Carbo Solutions International, in partnership with Guangxi Construction Engineering Group, joined the 2019 China Sugar Expo & World Sugar Seminar that was held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 24 to 26, 2019.
More than 250 enterprises and institutions, including Braunschweigische Maschinenbauanstalt AG, COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages, Mengniu Dairy, and Haitian Soy Sauce, displayed their products in the 30,000-square-meter exhibition area.
Seven forums were also held to discuss the intelligent manufacturing of sugar, the synergetic development of sugar and financial industries, the extension of the sugar industrial chain, and the cultivation of high-yield sugar crops, among others.
Executives and experts from the International Sugar Organization, World Sugar Research Organization, Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association, and Indian Sugar Mills Association have delivered keynote speeches on sugar's global industrial patterns, sugar consumption and health, the current status, and development trajectory of the global sweetener market, and policies of major sugar-producing countries.
There were also dialogues between producers and retailers, product promotions, investment fairs, and science awareness activities.
The expo was locally organized by Guangxi International Expositions Group Co Ltd under the guidance of the China Sugar Association and Office of Sugar Industry Development of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Another successful S.I.T annual convention has been attended by Carbo Solutions International (CSI) at the Hilton Hotel, Durban, South Africa from May 5 to 8, 2019. At this convention, technical sessions were held where members presented technical papers based on research or development in cane sugar processing technology, quality control, environmental issues and other topics of interest to the cane sugar refining industry. Mr. Emmanuel Sarir, CEO & President of CSI, presented the paper on "Back to Basics: Your Guide to Sugar Refining Excellence." Mr. Sarir also received the Chapman Award from Mr. Paul Schorn, President of S.I.T.
A spousal program, social functions and an awards banquet were also held at the convention where the members had the opportunity to get acquainted and to discuss mutual technical concerns.
Carbo Solutions International in collaboration with Sugar Technology Program of Kasetsart University conducted the zero effluent ethanol distillery seminar at Institute of Food Research and Product Development, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand on 8th of February 2019 and was attended by 40 delegates from different ethanol distilleries of Thailand.
The said seminar was presented by CSI ethanol expert, Dr. Rodolfo Espinosa-Smith from Guatemala and covered the topics about the definition of vinasses, residual wastewater treatment, and ethanol effluents as valuable co-products.
Most of the participants came from Mitr Phol Biofuel, Cristalla Co., Rajburi Ethanol, TRR Energy, KTIS Bioethanol, KSL Green Innovation, Thai Alcohols, Bangchak Ethanol, Prachurb Industry, Specialty Biotech Co, Yokogawa Thailand Co, Sappim Co, and BBGI Public Co.
At the end of the session, participants actively participated in discussions on how to properly manage their ethanol effluents and attest that indeed this new technology is a promising solution to address their extensive problem on wastes.
he seminar was held in Guatemala City, organized by Atagua and Cengicaña, with the participation of Dr. Peter Rein as the keynote speaker.
